For as long as I can remember, Iβve been fascinated by birth and babies...
I was raised in South Africa, surrounded by a big extended family of strong, loving women. My Gogo (Zulu for Grandmother) had a gift: she would dream of a baby before anyone even knew one was coming. When a cousin was nearing the end of her pregnancy, she would come to stay at Gogoβs houseβand I would help care for her under Gogoβs guidance. After the baby was born, I would tend to the newborn while the mother rested. It was a deeply traditional and sacred season of βmothering the mother.β Years later I learned that one of my other Grandmotherβs, her sister, caught a few of her grandchildren.
She was also a healer.
Hi, Iβm Thando
The morning of my first professional birth, I dreamt of the babyβ¦
β¦ and sure enough, she was born that day.
Looking back, every chapter of my life led me back to this callingβfrom working in nurseries and volunteering in an orphanage in Soweto, to studying Education and Psychology at Bath Spa University with a focus on child development and care-giving across species, looking after new students on campus, working in safe houses and working with vulnerable young people going through changes in their lives.
Since then, this journey has filled me with awe. I support families across London and all over the world with birth preparation, hypnobirthing, and postnatal support and wellness practitioners with business support, training and mentoring, offering care that is intuitive, heart-led, evidence-based and spiritually grounded. This work is both my purpose and my passion.
The times that I am most connected to my joy areβ¦
π When I am coming back from a birth. I sometimes have to check if my feet are still on the ground, so to speak.
π₯ When I am in the kitchen cooking up something for friends β I have an impressive spice collection.
π€ When driving around London playing music and singing at the top of my voice (very badly!)β¨
ππ½ When I am on the dance floor (thankfully, my dancing is waaaaayyyy better than my singing).

The most common feedback I receive from clients?β¨
That I bring calm.β¨
And we laughβa lot.
